Taiwanese baritone Mark Peng began his musical training at the age of seven in the Ragazzi Boys' Chorus. Here, he quickly rose to be a soloist and assistant conductor, and he credits that organization for being the backbone of his musical interest and training.

With over a decade of experience, Mr. Peng is adept at singing a wide variety of works, from performing in musical theater to opera choruses, gospels, and madrigals, to large choral pieces, including Puccini's Messa di Gloria, Mozart's Coronation Mass, Mozart's Davide Penitente, Bach's Magnificat, and Beethoven's 9th Symphony.

A member of Opera Chapman for four years, Mr. Peng has appeared in numerous ensemble and lead roles in productions such as Le Nozze di Figaro, L'elisir d'Amore, Gianni Schicchi, and Die Fledermaus. Through Opera Chapman, he has also collaborated with Pacific Symphony in their productions of Opera for Kids! 

Mr. Peng has performed in numerous musicals, including The Wizard of Oz, Once Upon a Mattress, Cats, Fiddler on the Roof to Moonface Martin in Anything Goes, Caldwell B. Cladwell in Urinetown, and Rapunzel’s Prince/Wolf in Into the Woods. 

Mr. Peng received his Bachelor of Music Summa Cum Laude from Chapman University in 2017 and earned a Master of Arts in Education in 2022. Mr. Peng has since been continuing to teach and work as a musician and educator in both Southern California. Mr. Peng holds positions at St. John Neumann in Irvine and St. Kilian in Mission Viejo as a cantor, at Chapman University as an adjunct professor in the Hall-Musco Conservatory of Music, and works full-time in the Capistrano Unified School District as an elementary school music teacher.

Outside of music, Mr. Peng enjoys cooking, hiking, conversing about the first four seasons of Game of Thrones, and holds a Minor in History.
